Mmmm, Pizza!

I'm doing Weight Watchers - have about 3 stone to lose. I also love pizza. Not a good combination. So, I've been making tortilla pizza and it's really nice.

It's only 5 points, so not too bad for lunch!

I ordered some fabric from ebay. Light green with numbers on and I thought it would be ideal for my maths activities with the little ones. I teach children from 2.5 to 7 years old. So, I set about making this little bag. It's drawstring with a hanging loop at the back. I need to finish off the ties by joining them together, but that won't take long.

New bag for a new term

So, my laptop has gone to computer heaven. I am gutted as I had saved all the web pages I use and now I've lost them all. Ah, well - start again.

I regularly buy Sew Hip magazine and I made this bag from the most current issue (9). It didn't use much fabric at all really - I bought cheap stuff from Ikea, but I like it. The longest part was cutting the pattern and fabric, the sewing up of the actual bag was really quite quick and easy.

The side fabric:

And the inside:

I am especially proud of the inside pocket. It's divided into two and fits my mobile phone in perfectly!

I start school again on Tuesday, so this will be my new school bag. Just the right size for my diary, stickers and pencil case.

First Post!

So, my blog.

This week I've read, bookmarked and re-read blogs, found and bookmarked fabric shops, clicked links, admired work and found online tutorials for things to make. I seem to have a 'buzz'.

I ordered some gorgeous fabric from fabric rehab and it arrived today.

I was very excited. I love it and already have lots of ideas of what it could be. I hope I get some time to turn it into something lovely. I also should say I'm a novice. I bought a sewing machine last year and have made a couple of things, but nothing too extravagant - yet!

Last year, I made this little tote bag for a little girl I know.

I loved it, and might be tempted to make another, but there's so many nice things to make, I just don't know.

Anyway, I'm going to sign off and look lovingly at my new fabric. Oh, and continue browsing fabric shops I've found online :-)

Wish me luck!
